The culture may be different, but the message is the same.

The last few weeks have taken Jodie and I to several different states. That allowed us to meet many different people, and experience quite a few different cultures.

This past weekend, we were invited to speak a church in northern New York. We had an amazing time, and I learned something that God has been trying to get through my thick head for quite some time.

“Regardless of the culture you are in, the mission remains the same.”

What does that mean? It doesn’t matter where you go, or who you are around, people still need Jesus. We have to be prepared to show him to them.

Sometimes I am a block head. I try to make the Gospel more complex than it really is. When in fact, sharing the gospel is easy. So easy, anyone can do it…..

Are you following ,me?

This past Sunday, I talked about feet. Feet, and how they can be beautiful because someone used them to spread the gospel. Everywhere.

In the book of Romans, Paul asks some tough questions about how people will hear the gospel:

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”[f]

Then, he follows it up by teaching us that our feet are beautiful if we use them to bring the good news of Jesus.

One of the things I stumbled on, was I thought my feet could only be used to reach people in the Greater Philadelphia area. By thinking that way, I was actually limiting what God could do with me. When we commit to being a follower of Jesus, part of that commitment is being prepared to take that message wherever we are sent. It’s actually some what scary to think that God could send me to another state or even another country to do his will. However, as scary as that may be, I am excited to see what plans he has. Perhaps he will continue to use my family to reach people in the Greater Philadelphia area for years to come. Maybe not. Wherever he sends us, the mission is still the same.

Are you using your “Beautiful Feet” to carry the gospel to the people that need to hear from you?

Till next week,

Pj.
