What is the most popular verse in the bible?? If I had to guess, I would absolutely say John 3:16. If you know it, read along out loud with me;
John 3:16 New Living Translation (NLT)
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Everyone knows this verse!!!
John is teaching us here that God loves the entire world soooooo much, that he sent his one and only son to die in our place, so we can live in heaven forever with him.
That’s a whole lotta love.
But, if God has love for so many people, how is it that my life is important? Why do I matter? I mean, if there are a billion people here on earth, and God loves everyone of them, then what makes my life significant.
Well, lets start with this.
God Gives love, but not everyone chooses to receive love.
You see, God sent his son Jesus to die for the sins of mankind, because he loves us. But he also gave us freewill. God loves us as his own, enough to sacrifice his only son for us, but he does not force us to receive that love, or believe its even real for that matter. You have the right to chose. Life or death. The scripture says that no one comes to the father but through him.
John 14:6 New Living Translation (NLT)
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
So, God gives his love freely, with no mandate that we receive it at all. That’s why so many people miss the boat here. Yes, God loves the entire world, but your decision matters to him. He wants you to decide to receive that love and make the decision to follow him, because he knows that your life will never be the same again.
God loves all of us. Those of us who receive his love, are tasked with reaching the lost and bringing the love of Jesus to them.
We do that through;
Our Lives. (How we live)
Our Lifestyle. (The decisions we make)
Our story. (How Jesus rescued us)
See, you are uniquely important because of where God has brought you from. Most people find Jesus because of a relationship with another believer. Who you are, is what shows people who he is. There is only one you. Tell your story.
“Your story could be the missing piece to someone else’s salvation puzzle.”
What do you think?
